“There is an honesty about Pascale’s work that is achieved through a combination of determinedly working plein-air in all weathers, coupled with an instinctual ability to capture the ever-changing light on the weather-impacted landscape that she so clearly loves working in. Spontaneous, broad-brushed sweeps of watercolour are broken up by scratchy drawing to mark out changes in terrain, which is in turn highlighted with splashes of the keenly observed organic pigments of mosses, lichens, and wildflowers.
